It's hard to believe that it's been one year since Ben arrived on the scene. What in the world did we do without his smiling little face and chubby little cheeks? Unfortunately, Zach missed his birthday entirely because he had to go to Ohio with the helicopters to protect them from Hurricane Irene. The boys and I are packing up and heading to Raleigh first thing in the morning, but we did make some time today for birthday fun.
Ben started the day in his special birthday onesie, but it only lasted about two hours before getting too dirty to wear. He'll get to wear it again for his party next weekend, so we're really getting our money's worth. Ha! Deirdre and John and Joshua came over for dinner and birthday cupcakes and to help with hurricane prep. Ben did get to open a few presents before bed and Dan made sure to try them all out after Ben was asleep. Hopefully, when Dan gets his own presents on Tuesday, Ben's won't look so interesting.
