Yesterday we drove up the coast to meet some friends that are visiting from Virginia. Since it's really not a lot of fun to go to the beach with Dan and Ben (unless there's at least five adults to help out!), we decided to meet at the state aquarium for a couple of hours. Dan had a blast and Ben was happy as long as his stroller tray was supplied with Puffs to eat. Dan loved watching the river otters as they jumped in and out of the water and swam around. They are so much fun to watch! He also loved putting his hands in the water to pet the rays. I asked the staff person if any kid had ever fallen in the tank with the rays because I was pretty sure Dan would be the first. She didn't seem too amused.
We had a great time with Sara (an old pal from Hawaii) and her kids! Hopefully we'll get to see a lot more of them now that her husband is stationed near here.
