Another big weekend in the Alexander-Rashman household! A week ago Saturday, my friend Mike texted me that he had gotten engaged. Mike and I were in the same squadron and did a six-month deployment together where we became really good friends. After his time in the squadron was up, he transferred to be an ROTC instructor at Tulane. I was really excited to hear about his engagement and became even more excited when he told me that he was getting married in Hawaii in a week! On Saturday, Zach, Daniel, my mom, and I went to the beach in Lanikai (about 20 minutes from our house) to watch Mike marry Anna. It was a gorgeous morning, just a few puffy clouds in a sunny sky. A lot of other mornings recently have been overcast with intermittent rain, so this day was truly glorious. Beach weddings are perfect for babies because their crying is usually drowned out by the wind or the waves. But Daniel was asleep the whole time, so we had nothing to worry about!
After the wedding, we went to the reception at the Honolulu Country Club. Besides the bride, Daniel was the center of attention and didn't seem to mind one bit. Guess he takes after me in that regard! He must have been tired out after his big day because he slept for over 8 hours with just one feeding at the halfway point on Saturday night.
On Sunday, we had an open house for our friends to come and meet Daniel. I think the baby handled all the company better than Zach did! It was great for all of our different groups of friends to hang out and eat some good food and drink some delicious punch and meet the baby.
Here's Daniel right after his morning bath on Saturday:

Thanks so much for including a picture of Michael and Anna in your blog. I taught Michael in middle school and he has always held a special place in my heart. What a happy day for everyone (although his mom looks a little teary).
Your new little addition is adorable too!
Thanks again.
