If you send him something and it gets kicked back as undeliverable, try again in a few hours. It seems like their service is a little sporadic. Email is pretty much his only link with the outside world, so send him a note every now and then. Believe me, even if you think you have nothing interesting to say, he will eat it up (he wanted an hour-by-hour account of a Day in the Life of Dan, so I gave it to him--eat, sleep, play, repeat). And if you find anything interesting in the news (he's always begging for Buffalo news), cut and paste it into the body of the email because HTML links don't work too well. This is the Marine Corps that still uses donkeys to transport things, so cut them a little slack. Ha!
