Fire Station Field Trip

Last Monday, Dan and I went on a field trip with a local group that we joined, Topsail Tykes.  It's mostly moms and toddlers that meet up for story time on Wednesdays, or playground time on Mondays, or for special things that one of the moms sets up.  We don't go to every event, but I know my Dan and I know he is a major fan of fire trucks, so we definitely had to be a part of this one.

At first, the fire fighters wanted the kids to sit still and listen to a talk about fire safety, but they soon realized that 2- and 3-year-olds are much more interested in the trucks and the gear, so we'll have to learn about the safety stuff later.  Dan had a great time looking at everything and touching all the switches and knobs and gauges.  (Ben was hanging out at the beach house with the Ziegler's.)

Next month is strawberry picking for the Topsail Tykes, so stay tuned!
