The Drive

Dan and Ben and I headed out from San Diego on Saturday, July 4th.  Lauren and Jesse had already planned a weekend trip to Phoenix to see a baseball game, so we caravanned for that leg of the trip.  We stopped for lunch in Yuma and spending an hour there made me so grateful that we were never stationed there.  

We stayed one night in Phoenix, one night in Albuquerque, three night at the farm in Oklahoma, and one night with the Missouri Rashman's before arriving in Kentucky.  Long trip, but not too bad overall.  

Last few days in CA

After Disneyland, my parents drove cross-country with Hannah while the boys and I hung out and finished camp and took care of other last-minute things.  We were fortunate enough to be able to stay at my friend Angie's house while they were on vacation, so the boys had plenty of toys and books and games to play with while I took advantage of their giant television and caught up on HGTV.  Dan and Ben loved camp and LOVED jumping on Cael and Coen's trampoline every night.  The bad news is that now they want a trampoline of their very own....

Disneyland/California Adventure

Our last hurrah in California was a trip to Disneyland.  What a perfect way to end our time in the Golden State!  My parents came with us and so did Lauren and Jesse.  Zach's cousin Tom lives in LA and works for ABC/Disney, so he joined us for one day as well.  The kids had a fantastic time and so did I.  It was so wonderful to have a lot of adults so everyone could do what they wanted (Dan and I spent like 12 hours in the park on Saturday and there's no way that Ben or Hannah could have done that, so people brought them back to the hotel for naps and stuff).  We had a great time and the boys are already asking about when we can go to Disney World.  I'm ready!

Last Fun with Friends & Last Beach Day

The boys desperately miss their best pals, Cael and Coen, and I desperately miss their mom, Angie.  We spent one last day with them at Kid Ventures and had a great time, as usual.  Then, a few days later, we hit the beach with Lauren and Jesse for one last time.  No beach here in Kentucky, that's for sure....
